STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Working for the Weekend

Throughout the work week, it’s safe to say that most of us college students trying to get accustomed with a professional environment are making good use of our work appropriate heels, minimal makeup, pencil skirts and blouses. But, one of the most challenging of outfits is the one to wear to work on Casual Friday. Some may have the luxury of a very relaxed work environment where a pair of sneakers and an oversized T-shirt is appropriate, while others may follow a much stricter style guide. Regardless of the type of job you have, it’s important to keep in mind that even on your casual Friday’s, you’re dressing to impress.

This Fashionista has found the perfect balance between embracing comfort, professionalism and a personal flair. On Casual Friday, jeans are a comfortable staple. When it comes to denim, sticking with a dark wash is the best way to go for a work environment. Darker washes are professional and never fail to look nice on everyone. This Fashionista ditched the pain and discomfort of a heel and went with a pair of flats that showcase an adorable gold detail that ties in with the rest of her gold accessories.

The best part about casual workwear is that you get the opportunity to express more of your individuality and personal style while still looking professional. When it comes to tops and accessories, don’t be afraid to show who you are! Instead of pairing her structured blazer with a plain T-shirt, she added personal flair by wearing one of her favorite baseball T-shirts. While the outfit is personal and fun, the darker colors and gold accessories make it feel casual and most importantly put together. As always, this Fashionista took after my own heart with a surplus of rings and a pop of pink color on the lip.

No matter the season or work environment, we all know the best part of your Friday is relaxing and hanging out. With these Friday style tips and tricks you’ll be feeling ready for the weekend all day!
