STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Winter Whites

An important fashion rule to remember is the “no white pants after Labor Day” rule.  This rule is not followed anymore, and aren’t rules meant to be broken? That was a joke. These jeans are tasteful and add a feminine flare to the outfit. Don’t be afraid to wear white; this risk makes for a chic outfit.

A stylish trend that is a great statement piece to any outfit during the fall and winter (or in this case a snowy spring) is leather. Whether you are adding a leather bag, or putting on a jacket with a leather sleeve, leather will do the trick. It makes any outfit look expensive. This Fashionista was found wearing a military green jacket with leather quilted sleeves. The sleeves complement this look making it an edgy look. Not only does leather make for a warm look, but it is super-chic. Without this jacket, the outfit would not be as strong. It is a good piece to style around. She plays with the colors of the jacket by adding neutral tones to the outfit. The black shirt helps the jacket to stand out.

She layered three different necklaces that were all different lengths. The necklaces really make this outfit come to life. Her thoughtfulness of keeping all of her jewelry gold, including the gold accents on her cross-body bag, were fashionable ideas. Her leather bag and suede booties are also fashionable items to this piece.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t be afraid to wear winter whites and to mix textures like a leather with a ripped jean. I also cut my own jeans which is a fun and inexpensive DIY.”
