STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Why Not Wear White?

I never quite understood why you couldn’t wear white after Labor Day. Snow is white, fur coats are white and so is that nice hot latte with that foamy milk on top. Anyway, the color white doesn’t disappear after Labor Day weekend, so it shouldn’t have to from your wardrobe!

On this sunny right-before-fall-day, people were still wearing shorts and flip flops, sundresses and other summer staple pieces, including the color white. It definitely wasn’t time to break out sweaters and heavier fall pieces so this lightweight white flowing high-low dress was perfect for this day at the Union Square Farmer’s Market. This was the perfect piece on that slightly windy day to flow in the breeze and be a jaw-dropper on every street corner.

No one gets in trouble for wearing a simple white T-shirt all year-round so who is stopping you from wearing a white dress or white jeans in the fall? This Fashionista nailed the (almost) all-white look by pairing it with a neutral bootie and a simple lace bralette underneath. No need for heavy accessories or even bright pops of colors. Pairing white with a neutral or “fall” color is a great contrast in colors. Black and white, of course, is a perfect pair and you can rarely go wrong.

So this fall, go a little out of the box and try an all white look or break out that white summer dress and add tights and booties. No one is stopping you!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “No one should ever be afraid to wear white. I love adding cardigans and high socks to white summer dresses or wearing white jeans with an oversized burgundy or black sweater.”
