STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: White Out

While I will never part ways with my favorite all-black outfits, I can make a little room for the perfect all-white one. There is something so classic, clean and crisp about an all-white outfit. Not to mention, it reflects sunlight, which is definitely a bonus in the scorching summer heat. If done correctly, wearing all-white can definitely be a standout look. Just be careful of stains or spillage and have a Tide To Go stick on hand throughout the day; you know, just in case!

This Fashionista sports a loose white top that is a little boxy, yet doesn’t completely cancel out the shape of her body. She pairs this with a flowy white skirt with a cute row of buttons down the front that hit just above the ankles, as not to drown out her legs. Additionally, the top is slightly cropped and shows a little bit of her stomach, which breaks up the top and skirt nicely. These pieces separately would be perfect staple items for the summertime, but paired together they create quite a unique and interesting outfit that is very bold and fashion-forward.

What I love about this look is that even though this Fashionista is wearing all-white, she doesn’t try too hard to make the outfit more of a standout with accessories. It’s easy to take a neutral outfit and want to pair the most outrageous accessories with it to add a pop of color or to make it more interesting. But this Fashionista plays it cool with a pair of flat silver sandals and sunglasses with colorful mirror-like lenses that are very on-trend right now. These two metallic accessories add the right amount of shine to the outfit.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “When going for a monochromatic outfit, definitely pay attention to proportions. If you’re going to go with one color, make sure that the shape of your outfit is well-thought out. Also, don’t be afraid to play around with textures like lace, fringe or sheer to add dimension to your look. In addition, make sure your accessories are complementary. Just because you wear all-white one day doesn’t mean you have to break out the leopard shoes, hot pink purse and crazy statement necklaces all at once.”
