Style Advice of the Week

For about 40 years the University of Arizona has entertained its students with a carnival. For the first time in 15 years, it was held on campus so everyone and anyone could go with their friends for thrilling rides and good fun. When I was enjoying myself, I noticed that the go-to outfit was a pair of shorts and a bright top. Everyone was wearing the same thing, including myself. Then I noticed this Fashionista buying lemonade at a lemon-shaped stand. She looked great in her classy, all white ensemble. She took dirty carnival and turned it into classy brunch.

This outfit is so fresh and free, perfect for an extremely warm day in Arizona. She was wearing a white tank top, a white maxi skirt, a statement necklace, sandals and a bright pink kate spade handbag. Make wearing this outfit easier by wearing a maxi dress made of lace instead of chiffon. It serves the same purpose because it’s not too heavy and it will keep you cool, the white doesn’t attract the heat but deflect it. This Cream Lace Button Front Maxi Dress by Rare is beautiful in color and the lace is elegant and adds a bit of innocence to your look.

The key piece is the necklace, it’s perfect! The large pendants that are glossy and rich in color are going to catch anyone’s eye, which is why this Posh Bib Necklace from Forever 21 is perfect to tie to the whole outfit together. My favorite piece stood out the most, obviously, when you decide to pair a bright pink bag with white clothing you are sure to notice it. If you are in the mood to spend $400 on a handbag, this Cedar Street Elissa handbag from kate spade is a close second. This is the ultimate spring look because you are pairing white and bright colors.

My STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK is don’t be afraid to wear white on white, especially to a carnival.
