STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Wear Your Heart on Your Tee

The outfits that you put together say a lot about you. This is one of the reasons that graphic T-shirts will never die. As a matter of fact, these items were a huge trend at New York Fashion Week. More specifically, band T-shirts have been making an appearance all over, especially on the runways in Paris. Though I’ve personally matured from being a walking advertisement and sporting shirts with oversized brand names and logos written across my chest, I’ll always love a tasteful graphic tee.

This Fashionista, for example, loves elephants (who doesn’t?). So, what better to have adorning her comfy ribbed T-shirt than a print featuring the gentle giants? She paired the shirt, similar to this one, with a delicate pair of denim shorts featuring darling lace detailing. The shorts added an aspect of class and femininity to her simple tee.

Additionally, this Fashionista didn’t skimp when it came to accessories. Her clubmaster style sunglasses were a must for a sunny September afternoon. She also spiced up her look with jewelry; from her eye-catching nose ring, to her double pierced ears featuring delicate studs that sparkled in the sunlight, she knew exactly how to finish her look.

So Fashionistas, this week’s advice is to not give up on graphics. Block those terrible middle school graphic T-shirt getups from your memory and hit the mall, or the internet, to find a nice grown up version of everyone’s old favorite item. From tasteful logos, to witty gym gear and more, give graphics a second chance; you’ll be glad that you did.
