STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Warm in the Winter

Staying warm in the winter is most definitely first and foremost, but who says staying warm means you have to look like the Michelin man! I ran into this Fashionista on the streets of New York City after just having picked up some coffee (another great way to stay warm!). But her parka wasn’t the only way she brought some warmth into her outfit. Statement necklaces are fun and a really good way to spice things up, but her small sun necklace was the perfect touch to this wintery ensemble. It may be small, but it really carries its weight by brightening up the outfit. The necklace isn’t the first thing you notice when you see the her, but most definitely it stands on its own once you take a closer look. The rest of her outfit is pretty dark, a lot of gray and black. Winter brings out the darkness to a lot of people’s wardrobe, but this Fashionista wasn’t going to let a cold, overcast day take away her sunshine.

The necklace isn’t the only cool jewelry she brought to her outfit. This Fashionista also had on a few funky rings that added an edgy twist. She puts the whole together so nicely with a pair of pointed black leather boots and a turtleneck, which is one of my all-time favorite winter looks. Overall, the outfit is the perfect way to look cool and fresh, but most importantly not be too cold. It isn’t impossible to stay warm in the winter.
