I think I can speak for all of us when I say that this recent “Arctic Blast” has done nothing for our wardrobes but limit it. Temperatures dropped down into the negatives and I’m sure all of you can agree that the daily routine included lying under multiple blankets doing anything to stay warm. Now that the weather is finally looking up and we are no longer shivering, I have seen Fashionistas all over campus bringing out their cutest ensembles to begin the spring semester. This Fashionista caught my eye with her match-up that is a perfect fit for the lighter but still chilly weather we are experiencing now. She rocks one of my favorite pieces for this type of weather, one that is definitely a current staple in my closet: a simple yet trendy puffer vest.
A puffer vest is a great addition to any fashion lover’s collection. From being paired with skater skirts and over-the-knee boots to placing it over a cable knit sweater and leggings, the puffer vest can fit almost any outfit while still providing warmth. This Fashionista put a casual yet very put together twist on the vest by adding dark cuffed skinnies and a cream cotton sweater. This created a versatile look that fit everything from a long day of classes to an evening out with friends.
To add to her look, this Fashionista paired two of her favorite pieces. She threw a Burberry scarf around her neck in a simple knot, which adds a girly accent while again keeping her warm. As every Fashionista knows an outfit is not complete without the perfect bag! She carries a cross-body black and white zip handbag that I later learned was Steve Madden. These types of purses are great because they can be worn several different ways. To finish it off she wears a pair of wedge heeled TOMS shoes, which I personally am a huge fan of.
This Fashionista’s look is simple, trendy and most importantly warm for this confusing weather we all have been victim to. Battle this sometimes-warm sometimes-cold climate by being well equipped with the right fashionable threads. By mixing together the perfect pieces, you’ll have a fun and girly outfit that will definitely stand the test of time…or should I say temperature. I hope all of you Fashionistas have a fun and fashionable start to this spring semester!
