STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Turtlenecks and Chill

With the weather changing and the snow falling, it’s tough to look cute with our puffy coats and red faces. Well, there’s one thing I can think of that would make the freezing weather a little more bearable. What’s better than an over-sized sweater that also warms your neck at the same time? Absolutely nothing.

The trend of turtlenecks have always been prevalent in fashion, but they’re gaining even more fame nowadays for being not only warm and soft but also very fashionable. Turtlenecks seem to come across as just a winter staple, but that’s not the case. There are many different kinds, whether it be a mock, cropped, or sleeveless. Since there are so many options, you can basically wear a turtleneck any time of the year. Score!

This fashionista is bundling up for the cold, wearing her favorite white turtleneck sweater from Free People. It’s loose and comfortable while also being long enough to pair with her classic black leggings (which hopefully never go out of style). She dresses up her outfit with her TOMS wedges and a watch. The wedges and watch that I chose to link to are a little different than what is pictured at the top. I thought that the cognac color of the wedges were a fun and vibrant color, especially when we’re used to all the black and white that seems to take over our winter fashion. The watch I chose is from Fossil, which is where my favorite watch is from. The brown leather straps have a classic feel, while the gold chain can dress up any plain outfit.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “The main reason why I wear turtlenecks is to keep warm. They’re perfect to pair with jeans or leggings, and they always have that relaxed yet feminine feel.”
