From actual combat training to college sidewalks, the androgynous trend of combat or troopa boots has take over this year’s fall season.
We’ve seen this type of boots in women and men (some more eccentric than other ones), but what is most interesting about them is how these boots camouflage in any type of style.
Take today’s Fashionista for example, a senior in Education at the University of Texas Pan-American. She chose these leather-camel combat boots with tiny gold details to fulfill her clean and sophisticated outfit. She combined them by putting on a cotton cream sweater, black leggings and a thin leopard print belt to add some edginess to the look.
Wearing boots doesn’t mean you’re going to look like a tomboy. Combat boots are made to make your feet more comfortable in the long walks to school and to catch anyone’s eye. The huge variety that designers and brands have created for this cold season is a great thing. If you plan on buying a pair, look for the color that fits your wardrobe.
My favorites (and hopefully soon to be mine) have to be these girly-girl Betsey Johnson with pink interior. If you’re looking for something more simple and clean, try these ones from Steve Madden. For the different and daring look, this ALDO or AllSaints pair, full of studs and metal buckles.
Try your combat boots with leggings, skinny jeans or even shorts with tights! Let the boots speak for themselves; it is not necessary to cover them with an A-line jean. Dare to add that strong yet comfortable element to your winter look—and don’t worry, boots will fit just perfectly.
