STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Tribal Prints and Black Leather

Fall is a great time to study trends in the fashion industry. It’s also a fun time to try out different looks. Some days may be colder than others, which allows you to dress warmly by adding a cute jacket or cardigan. Other times, it’s warm enough to go sleeveless, which is exactly what this Fashionista decided to do and it worked great for her!

One popular trend I’ve noticed this fall is actually the pairing of two trends. Tribal prints have always been trendy for fall, but when paired with black leather, they become more classic. Black leather is one of those timeless materials that can make any outfit look chic. Style icons and fashion bloggers alike use this look all the time, but the black leather is usually the focal piece. I like how this Fashionista made the tribal print the focus of her outfit.

It’s actually very simple to get this Fashionista’s look. The key is to make tribal print the main focus and choose black leather accessories. This Fashionista chose to wear a sleeveless tribal print dress and accented it with a black leather backpack and black leather booties. The trick is to pick either black leather or tribal print as the focus and coordinate your outfit accordingly so it’s obvious what the main piece is. In this case, try not to pair your tribal print with a leather jacket or something that will take away from the print. Instead, follow this Fashionista’s example and pair the print with smaller leather accessories that will highlight, not steal the focus.
