STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Transitional Season Style

Alright, so don’t get me wrong—I’m as just as excited for sweater weather as the next girl but I’m not quite ready to move on completely. (At least not yet!) That’s why I’m super excited about this transitional style trend. I get to combine my summer favorites in a new, updated and more weather appropriate way!

Here in Montana we are starting to really feel the crispness in the air and have actually already had a couple of freezing days. Yet, that sun never fails to come back out and burn us up when we least expect it. Still holding onto that last little bit of summer. That’s why transitional style is so important. It allows us the option to be comfortable AND stylish no matter what the weather throws at us.

An elegant jumpsuit was quickly added to my wardrobe after seeing this effortless transitional season outfit on this Fashionista. Normally I stick to basic black pants and a gorgeous top or a button-up skirt and blouse for this time of year but that gets boring quickly. So, you can imagine my immediate fascination with something different. It also reminded me just how cool keeping it simple can be.

Fall style is all about basics so the key here is to keep it simple. Even so, don’t overlook the little details—that’s where some of the summer aspects come in. A simple lace bralette and layered jewelry are super easy ways to achieve this. Both add a little class but also some interest to any look. And although not pictured, leather jackets are another PERFECT transitional piece and look good over just about everything.
