You know those Hawaiian shirts that you see on the stereotypical tourist? The ones you see on an older man wearing cargo shorts and those strappy sandals? The average person probably would assume that no other type of person would wear a shirt like that, but I disagree. I actually love them! Hawaiian shirts, or similar floral patterned shirts, could be a very “hipster” thing to wear, but it’s still something you can have fun styling.
I saw this Fashionista wearing one of these shirts; it has a floral pattern of what seems to be papayas that incorporates the colors: green, orange, yellow and white. She’s wearing it with a black skater skirt that she paired with white Converse. I love this look because she took a piece, the shirt, that isn’t usually considered cool and made it her own with this outfit.
To recreate this look I would highly recommend thrifting a shirt like this. You could go to your local Goodwill or Salvation Army and find one that you like for about $5! As for the skater skirt, check out this one from Forever 21. For this outfit, I would have liked if the skirt was colored. Perhaps an orange or emerald green would have complemented the shirt a little better. I’m always in support of all white Converse so maybe change it up by wearing these high-top Converse from Urban Outfitters. This Fashionista is also wearing a small watch with this outfit. Her accessories are very limited because the pattern on her shirt draws enough attention. You can get a small watch like this from Macy’s if you don’t already have one. Going along with the Hawaiian shirt theme, if you like the pattern you should look at this dress from Forever 21. It can replace this shirt and skirt in this outfit; just wear it with sneakers for a casual look or maybe heels for going out.
