July 16th, 2015 at 2:00am

“Crop me out, girl! I don’t like the way I look in that picture.” Many of us know at least friend who annoys us with statements like that, or hey maybe even we are one of those. In this case, this Fashionista wore a crop! She didn’t want to get cropped out of the picture, but she sure did wear a crop top. Crop tops have actually been around for a while, but just recently has the fashion industry decided to cut up half a shirt and sell it, and in a different yet trendy way, it works. It looks oh so stylish and is always trendy! A crop top and a pair of shorts, a crop top and a maxi skirt, a crop top and high-waisted jeans…the combinations are endless.

Crop tops can be remembered to be worn back way when! They originally came from the Middle East when belly dancers used to wear crop tops and since then, the trend of half cut shirts  have followed—especially in the ’80s when an aerobics exercise video could not be done without those cropped, over-the-shoulder, neon colored sweaters! Classic, I know. This Fashionista wore a navy bustier crop top along with a short floral skirt and a light pink cardigan that could be worn day or night.

The Fashionista paired the solid color of navy with a floral skirt, which helps pop out the navy crop, as well as the pearled jewelry! The pearls, the floral and the navy are forever classics, and she surely followed all three trends. The UGG wedges kept the outfit simple, yet trendy!

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “My main focus was to keep it simple. I am all about comfort, and for the most part you will see me wearing gym attire. But when I do dress up, I believe in comfort and simplicity. A crop top is a main staple in my closet, and I believe you can wear them with anything!”
