“People look cool in visors,” said nobody ever. If you think about it, blocking out sunlight while still getting to show off your luscious locks is a brilliant idea (in theory). Although the visor does not work in a Fashionista/o’s favor, the turban does! Open turbans are a great way to keep your ears warm while still showing off your hair and keeping your spring look away from winter.
This week’s Fashionista snagged her cozy head wrap in Europe, but luckily the trend has caught on in the US. Anthropologie is home to this textural turban. Its gray color will work with both dark wintery shades as well as light springtime shades.
San Diego Hat Company makes this avocado colored turban. The perfect springtime color, this turban could totally work for fall and winter as well!
Once the weather is warm, feel free to sport a turban more for style than for warmth. Free People makes this beaded headpiece with a great Ikat print. They also make this tie-dye turban that I love in lavender.
Never fear Fashionisto’s, because I have got you covered! Check out Junk Brands for an endless amount of men’s headbands. My favorite is this Big Diamonds version. If you’re afraid of the color they also have black and white patterns such as this Silver Mirage one. The site also includes a “how to wear it” section for any confused customer.
Feeling a bit creative and want to make your own? PS I Made This has mapped out quick and easy steps to make your very own! All you need is a sock, a scarf, scissors and some hair elastics.
To back up my “turban trend” I did a little research. It turns out designers such as Prada and Hermes have been showing off their turban headpieces on the runway!
