STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Thrifting Saves The Day

Between school supplies, the never ending list of books and the countless amounts of junk food needed for those late night study sessions, the life of a college student can quickly add up to a lot. It can be even more troubling when you are trying to put together a cute look on a tight budget. This is where the power of thrift stores comes along.

One of my favorite parts of this Fashionista’s look is the amazing way that she incorporates different elements into her outfit to create a quirky pop of color here and there. From her red bandana to her colorful denim shirt, this look is without a doubt the perfect mixture of staying true to yourself without breaking the bank. The best part of all of it all is that it’s an easy look to recreate yourself with your own unique pieces.

The best part about thrifting is that there are so many choices out there to choose from. Even if you don’t find anything at first, any article of clothing found at thrift stores can turn into a wardrobe staple with the right amount of work. For instance, you may find someone’s old denim T-shirt that they didn’t like anymore, and turn it into a cute outfit piece.

If you are in a crunch for cash but in need of a new cute outfit, keep in mind that it is better to try thrifting for a few stand out pieces that can really make your look. Furthermore, I suggest that you invest a little more money into those pieces that you use on a daily basis. Don’t be afraid to scour through your local thrift store to find other people’s old treasures, because who knows what amazing piece you might find!
