Oh, the sweet smell of spring semester! Winter break has come to a close and fashionable college students everywhere have one worry in mind as their classes start: what am I going to wear my first day of school? The first day back is a reminder to your classmates of your fashion taste, so it is only acceptable to look your very best to kick off the new semester! Luckily, this week’s STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK is to the rescue with a perfect example of a “first day” outfit and other cool tips and tricks to spice up your look.
I caught this Fashionista on a cool, January afternoon in the midst of running some last minute errands for school. After chatting with her about the cool pieces of her outfit, like her scarf and colorful tights, I realized this Fashionista is crafty and creative to say the least. Perfect for the cool days approaching, she created this infinity scarf herself but it looks like something you could buy at a trendy boutique. This Fashionista layered her infinity scarf over a jet black leather jacket from Macy’s.
With the infinity scarf and leather jacket to keep her warm, this Fashionista was able to wear a white T-shirt tucked into a heather gray A-line skirt from Target. Wearing a skirt during the winter season might sound crazy, but this Fashionista is able to get funky with her accessories by adding eye-popping electric pink tights to keep her legs warm. Tights are a great piece to wear with skirts on windy days and come in many colors and patterns.
Her black mid-calf boots from Sears are shown in detail against her tights. By wearing an outfit of mostly grays, blacks and whites, this Fashionista shows a pop of color goes a long way. Be smart and think pink this winter season to grab your fellow classmates’ attention away from the books to your fashionable looks!
