STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The Socially Acceptable Pajamas

Many college students face the same temptation: showing up to class in their pajamas. You deserve to, right? It already takes so much motivation to get up early in the mornings and do work. Who has motivation to wear something tight and uncomfortable? Even jeans can seem restricting, and elastic pajama pants seem highly more preferable. Sure they aren’t fashionable. Sure, they might not be meant for a daytime setting, but you couldn’t care less. However, there’s that little voice inside of your head that talks you out of it. Next thing you know, you are walking to class in a tight mini skirt and trying to sit in your seat with much difficulty. How can this situation be avoided? There’s one clear answer: patterned pants.

Patterned pants have been on-trend recently because they can add that extra element to an outfit while still being comfortable. In all honesty, they are no different than pajama pants in comfort or style, but the sole fact that they are not pajama pants makes them socially acceptable for the general public. Pair them with a black T-shirt and bohemian shawl and you have got yourself loungewear for the classroom. To make the look more put together, add a statement necklace and colorful, oversized bag. It will hold all your books and the attention of your peers.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I usually pick out one nice and expensive piece and mix it with basics. Fake it until you make it.”
