STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The Simple Details

Since fall is soon approaching here in the Midwest, the weather is starting to change as well. It’s time to say goodbye to the 80 degree weather and hello to the fall breeze and sweatshirt type of nights. I love that living in the Midwest we get to experience every season and even better yet, that means all different clothes to buy! I particularly wanted to feature a pre-fall outfit that you could wear here in the Midwest.

Although some days it can still be pretty humid, other days can be very chilly and in-need of a thick cardigan for September nights. When it comes to my advice, I always say to keep your neutral colored dresses and knit sweaters nearby during this month. The weather is always changing and being able to throw on and off a cardigan depending on the day is key. I know personally I have a handful of cardigans always ready in my closet here at college.

Boots are also a staple item to have in your closet starting in September. They are so easy to wear with all different outfits and can make a dressy dress look more comfortable and laid back for those days you still want to put yourself together. That is what I loved about this outfit. This dress could either be dressed up or dressed down and either way it looks amazing! The thin straps and small flower detail make this piece simple yet elegant. The same goes for the lace-up boots and the thin laces on them. Nothing too thick, but just enough to give that detail. Also, the thick knit sweater goes so perfectly with this outfit whether it’s the color, weight, length or material. It definitely brings out the color within the flowers and gives a little pop to the neutral background and white dress.

Lastly, this outfit is finished with small diamond earrings to bring the whole outfit together and make it the perfect September style. I will for sure be wearing this type of outfit out and about this next month and I am sure you will find yourself reaching for your favorite sweater and boots as well!
