Through the cold weather months, richer colors and textiles make their way into our wardrobes. This Fashionista’s look is no exception. Between the fur vest, ladylike lace, suede boots and jeweled bangle, there was no shortage of luxury. Normally, my fashion philosophy is that less is more, but in this case, no one piece outshines the other. It all adds up to be one great look.
One of my favorite parts of this Fashionista’s outfit is that all of her pieces can be worn separately. Since each piece has the ability to make a big statement, here are my suggestions on how to wear each one separately. If you are running around town while still trying to look chic, you can pair the fur vest with a printed peasant blouse, denim and suede booties (like the pair she is wearing in the photo). If you want to add some edge to the lace dress, pair it with a denim jacket and cream Converse sneakers. Finally, you can wear a bangle similar to this Fashionista’s and let it shine with on it’s own with a LBD.
Once the Baroque trend started this past fall with Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar de la Renta and Balmain paving the way, many designers flooded the runway with their own interpretation of the trend. Also, many designers deviated from the Baroque trend and created designs with other luxurious fabrics and colors. Fur, velvet, sequins, lace and suede have been incorporated into almost every article of clothing on the racks this season. Therefore, it has allowed every woman to walk around feeling like royalty (and who wouldn’t want to emulate Kate Middleton?) The best part? The trend trickled down from the runway to affordable stores like Urban Outfitters and Topshop so everyone can have a bit of luxury in their life.
So whether you splurge on a statement piece or buy a savvy steal, think “luxury” the next time you are browsing through your favorite store.
