The end of the semester is around the corner. The closer we get to finals week, the slower it seems to arrive. It can be really frustrating. Sometimes I feel torn between my need to pass my classes with good grades and my desire to relax and enjoy my last college year by having fun with my friends. It’s best to keep it cool in between.
For many of us, senior year feels exciting as our mature side grows every day. Not only do future goals feel nearer as we start to settle down, but we also begin to see things differently — starting with first impressions.
Today’s Fashionisto shows how to give a good impression at any time. He is wearing a denim shirt with black pants rolled up to show his fabulous polka-dot socks, as well as brown leather shoes with the matching belt. He finishes it off with a strong piece: a tweed jacket.
Here in the Rio Grande Valley, it is not common to see men or women wearing tweed in any form because of two reasons: it is too hot and they don’t know how to pull it off.
I loved everything about today’s outfit. It made me think of troublemaker singer Olly Murs, originally from England. He shows just how to work a tweed jacket similar to today’s Fashionisto, but with different color tones.
The outfit by itself is enough, but a carry-on element like a jacket or a sweater is necessary for unexpected temperature changes.
Get a classic denim shirt from Forever 21; brown leather brogue shoes, like these ones from ASOS; and a belt that matches, like this from Ted Baker. Polka-dot socks keep the personality in the outfit. You can find them anywhere from Macy’s to Target. If you feel pressure from the multitude of colors, keep the accessories color equal and you’ll be fine.
The tweed jacket brought the gentleman a twist of elegance and sense of style to his preppy look. Look at it as an escape from being just a college student to a business gentleman ready for real life.
