STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The Dog Days Are Over

I think it’s safe to say that most of us are excited about the arrival of fall. Now that the season is changing, transitioning your clothing can be a struggle. Especially when you live in a place like Virginia, where the weather can change faster than the speed of light. One day you could wear a turtleneck and the next day be wearing a crop top, so it’s extremely difficult to know which clothes to keep in your closet.

Going to a school where literally everyone looks like they are from Tumblr makes finding a model very difficult because the students are so stylish and there are so many different styles to choose from! With that being said, this Fashionisto is a very good friend of mine. I love this particular look because he has a really great balance of masculinity and quirkiness. The shirt is obviously the major piece in the outfit because it has adorable pugs all over it. The light denim shorts and the tan shoes are very subdued, which is why they look so cute with this outfit. Because the shirt is making a huge statement, it’s important to keep everything else in the outfit more low-key so that it is cohesive. My style advice for achieving a similar look is to look for a strong centerpiece. If you find something loud enough that can basically stand alone, the rest should be easy! Simply find other pieces that are plain and won’t distract away from the main article of clothing.
