STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The Bomb Dot Com

The weather’s getting colder, and layering this season is a must to keep warm, especially in northeast Ohio. When I find myself walking across campus and through downtown Kent, I tend to get so inspired by students’ outfits, and start to create my own ways of how I can style future looks (and take a RAD Instagram pic). Especially with the change in weather, scarves, jackets and boots are becoming the season staples.

When shopping for the cold, the number one important piece is a jacket. One staple that I’ve always been intrigued with is the bomber jacket. I love the fit of this jacket, the bulky look, but still adding a more casual twist to an outfit. Bombers have been a piece that constantly keep showing up, and with each season comes a different way to style your outfit around it. From Kendall Jenner’s casual look pairing it with a sweater and UGGs, to Shay Mitchell rocking a plain white T-shirt with ripped black jeans and booties, the jacket fits any style. It’s also seen on both Fashionistos and Fashionistas, which is not only refreshing but counts for endless inspiration.

Need help styling this bomb jacket? This Fashionisto shows his take on the bomber by wearing a checkered button-up flannel. By adding a pattern, his appearance isn’t too simple. For his pants, going with black jeans made the outfit flow, and the ripped knees added that extra edge. Finishing off with Nikes, this choice dressed it down and made it more original.

Don’t be afraid to reach for the bomber jacket! It can add such a grungy and edgy feel to an outfit. From black to gray to army green, this jacket will no doubt become your favorite fall staple.
