STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The Astronaut Wives Club

Slowly becoming one of my favorites this summer, The Astronaut Wives Club is a new television drama based on Lily Koppel’s book of the name. The series and book follow the lives of the wives of Mercury Seven, the United States’ first group of Astronauts. I highly recommend the show to everyone; it has awesome ’50s/’60s fashion, strong female characters and some pretty intense tearjerkers. What more could you possibly want in a show?

But, let’s focus on the fashion for now. As soon as I saw this Fashionista’s outfit, it screamed “astronaut wife” to me. I love its floral print and feminine silhouette. It’s a beautiful dress ideal for twirling photos. This Fashionista definitely had fun with our little photo shoot, as you can see. Bonus: the dress has deep pockets, too! Leave the purse at home; keep your phone and essentials in there instead. No sundress outfit, of course, is complete without matching wedges. This Fashionista kept her shoe choice a muted nude color, keeping all the attention to the floral dress. Overall, it’s a classic look that is ideal for a dinner with the girls.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Oftentimes, midi dresses can make short people even shorter, as the dress length cuts off mid-calf. This is why being tall is such an advantage; no need to sacrifice anything! Also, even if you’re tall, don’t ever worry about you towering over people when you wear heels. Wear what makes you feel confident!”
