STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: The ’70s are so Far Out

Every moment a new trend pops up on our social media newsfeed, which alters the world of fashion. Every piece of clothing we own is the result of a reaction to what we see or what we feel fits, not only the current styles. It’s what speaks to us, and what represents us as individuals. The type of occasion we are attending and the current season, are just two points of which we base our most crucial outfit decisions on. Including the biggest contender, what’s on trend at this very point in time? If there is one thing we all know about fashion, it’s that fashion is a constant cycle. A multitudinous variety of pieces, coming in and out of style within a split second. The special and free-flowing trends of the ‘70s are back in action and are currently grazing across every fashion blog, website and magazines across the globe.

This Fashionista is rocking one major modern ‘70s trend: the slim fit long sleeve turtleneck. She has paired this classic piece with a printed floral tailored jacket, black disco pants, a nude leather cross-body bag, black patent iridescent Vans, funky hot pink graphic socks, a black mesh and crystal bracelet paired with a Hand of Fatima charm bracelet and some killer nude sunglasses. This girl is not afraid to wear nearly every girl’s most comforting and fabulous color, the color black. Especially during the early weeks of spring warmth.

The soft cotton element of the turtleneck gives this overall look a bit of loose texture. Not every Fashionista is willing to whip out their black turtleneck sweater on a gorgeous spring day. That’s what makes this subtle look even more unique. Not only is this look versatile, the color alone will never go out of style.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “My style advice is to go back to an era you’ve never dressed in before and try a trend out. Like, I’m wearing a turtleneck and that’s reminiscent of the ‘70s, but it’s back in fashion so I thought I’d try out the style and adapt it to present day. Also, never be afraid to wear black even in the summer.”
