Style Advice of the Week

It’s mid-January and it is cold. I don’t know about you Fashionistas, but I’m getting tired of being bundled up all the time. My daily wardrobe has recently consisted of jeans, boots, wool socks and big sweaters. While I love the cozy winter look, seeing this Fashionista was a breath of fresh air.

In a sea of black coats, black leggings and UGG boots, this Fashionista stands out from the crowd in her bold red skirt, tights and booties. This look shows you can be warm without sacrificing your personal style. There are many details in this outfit that are unique to this Fashionista’s personality. My eye was instantly drawn to the textured tights in this outfit. Not only are they functional by keeping her legs warm, but the pattern detail pushes the outfit into fashion. I also particularly like the colour choices she has made: there is a subtle nautical feel to this outfit found in the skirt and umbrella. Lastly, her booties protect her feet from the rain and snow but don’t sacrifice her outfit.

Don’t be afraid to step out without your winter staples this season. This Fashionista shows that you can stay warm without sacrificing femininity. Just because it’s winter doesn’t mean that your skirts have to hide in your closet. Adding a warm pair of unique tights will spice up your winter wardrobe. Don’t be afraid to throw in some fun details to stand out on a cold day. You can create your own sunshine on a cold and cloudy day.
