This season, as I looked through magazines such as Vogue and Seventeen , it was almost impossible not to flip through a page and see something covered in studs. They always say history repeats itself and this is usually the case with fashion as well. The stud look was all the rage back in the ’80s. You could find them on almost any piece of clothing that was “punk” related. It gives just that perfect amount of cool chic that a young Fashionista needs in her life! At first I was a little skeptical as to what type of outfit to wear with shoes or a purse covered in studs, but I soon realized you could literally rock them with anything!
I spotted this Fashionista walking to class and couldn’t help but stare at her studded boots. I was in love! She pairs them perfectly with a pair of black skinny jeans and an army green button-down (which is also a very popular color this season). She doesn’t stop there though. Along with this bad-to-the-bone ensemble she adds more edge to her look with a brown cross-body bag covered in tiny gold studs as well.
If you don’t feel comfortable jumping into the trend with studs or spikes all over the place, start off with one piece at a time. I love this studded shirt from Urban Outfitters and both pairs of these Steve Madden boots.
Like all new and sometimes crazy trends people shy around the idea of trying them out. Not everyone thinks they are capable of pulling off certain looks, but this one I believe anyone can rock. This stud-spike overload craze has gone above and beyond. It is definitely something I believe every girl should try in order to spice up her life a little and add a little fierceness to her everyday outfit.
