Style Advice of the Week

Here we are in the month of November and the fall semester is moving right along! Homecoming and midterm exams have come and gone and we’re already beginning to focus our attention on beginning final projects. However, around this time of the school year, I always begin to find myself feeling a bit restless. The end of the semester is so close yet so far away. The temperature is getting lower and the days have become shorter. There is still a lot of work to be done but winter break is constantly on my mind. Many of you Fashionistas and Fashionistos are probably going through this same “November funk,” but don’t let that affect your daily outfit choices!

On those days where you really just wish you could press a fast forward button to winter vacation, it can be easy to put your wardrobe on the backburner. It can become so simple to just throw on your favorite sweatshirt and jeans everyday without much thought. Fortunately, throwing on that sweatshirt doesn’t have to be boring or repetitive because it’s all about how you present it!

I spotted this Fashionisto, who was able to take a simple gray sweatshirt and create a cool urban street wear look. He paired his sweatshirt with black faux leather shorts, black and white sneakers and a gray and black snap back hat. His gold chain and watch add the perfect accents to his relaxed look.

As you count down until the end of the semester, I challenge you to switch up the way you sport your sweats. Pair your plain sweatshirt with leather pants or a skater skirt and create an entirely new look!
