STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Surviving an East Coast Winter

For all of you over on the East Coast, myself included, we know what we are in for once winter comes around. Once it hits December we are bringing out the furry scarfs, hats, gloves, snow boots and heavy-duty coats. An East Coast winter is definitely a force to be reckoned with.

Sometimes it can be hard to maintain your style in the winter when you are buried under layer after layer of clothing. Style quickly gets thrown to the back burner when you are simply trying not to freeze out in the frosty air. However, it can actually be super easy to dress warmly while also rocking some cool pieces.

My biggest tip for staying fashionable during the winter is to find a big, warm coat that expresses your personal style. Your winter looks all stem from the coat you decide to wear when you leave the house every morning. You can see that this Fashionisto is sporting a heavy-duty, green cargo coat with a fur trim around the hood. Not only is this coat extremely on-trend, but it will protect him from the brutal winter!

Of course, until the winter really hits, there are also other awesome ways to style a coat like this. This Fashionisto decided to sport some moccasins, slacks and a soft T-shirt under his jacket before the temperature drops down. You can style the coat for a cool color blocking affect like he did here.

Before the winter storm hits, go find yourself a staple winter coat that is both warm and stylish. With it being the end of December, the temperature is due to drop at any moment.
