Style Advice of the Week

Summer is in full swing in Arizona, and with 110 degree days, sunblock isn’t enough. A perfect way to protect your face from the sun’s harsh rays is by throwing on a floppy sun hat. This is a great way to add a fun bohemian element to any outfit. Not only will a hat keep you cool and protect you from those pesky UV rays, but it’s also perfect for when your hair is looking like a hot mess since you can toss it on and be out the door in no time.

These wide-brimmed hats first became popular in the ’70s thanks to the iconic Brigitte Bardot but now almost every celebrity is seen sporting this fashion trend. Floppy hats can be found in almost every store from Target to Nordstrom, but I find that Urban Outfitters typically has an array of them in stock

The summer floppy hat has transformed into a major staple in your perfect summer outfit. These hats used to be reserved for the beach but can now be used to easily spice up a casual outfit. A great way to pair your floppy hat is with a flowy outfit like this Fashionista’s. I love the way the hat looks with a maxi dress or skirt since it adds to the boho vibe. This Fashionista paired her summer hat with a maxi skirt from Urban Outfitters and a Brandy Melville top and added a gorgeous statement necklace from Forever 21. If maxi skirts or dresses aren’t your cup of tea, feel free to pair it with a romper or high-waisted shorts. Regardless, you’ll be looking fabulous!
