STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Sunny Days and Sundresses

Style Advice of the Week

Now that the sun is out and about, I can practically hear my sundresses calling to me from the back of my closet. But don’t worry, they’re definitely all coming out this season. A good sundress can be styled with everything from a denim cutout jacket and Converse, to a light cardigan and heels. As I’ve said before: A flattering sundress is the best thing a girl can have in the summer. As girls, we’re lucky that we can throw on one item of clothing and justify it as our entire outfit. But there is something easy, effortless and feminine about an airy sundress that shows off your legs and shoulders.

This Fashionista did easy, breezy and feminine just right. Her coral colored dress was the perfect color for her fair skin and blonde hair. One thing to keep in mind while looking for that perfect sundress is color. Go bold, but remember that the most important thing you need to have while wearing a dress like this, is confidence.

I love Lilly Pulitzer dresses, but sometimes they can be a little too structured and stuffy for my liking. This Fashionista chose a lighter, flawy dress from Bershka. It’s cinched at the waist, which gives it form while but still has an effortless feel. She then paired it perfectly with these leather sandals from Steve Madden. A cool way to make this dress edgier is by wearing a jean vest over it and pairing it with white Converse or Keds. This is just another example of how sundresses are so easy to style.

So when you’re deciding to buy a sundress this season, remember to pick a color that you will feel confident in. Don’t forget about shape, you don’t want to look like you’re wearing a sack of potatoes. And, lastly, accessorize, you can easily take a sundress from sporty to edgy to extremely feminine, but that’s up to you to decide.
