STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Summer Simplicity

This summer my go-to staple piece would without a doubt be the romper. This trend is featured everywhere from magazines to the runway, but I would have to say my love for the one piece started at an early age. I was a busy child, always on the go and rushing my dad to take me to the playground. This was before I became aware of things like fashion, style and trends. The only thing I knew about clothes is that they had to be comfortable and not get in the way of me swinging on the monkey bars. I would throw on my romper, lace up my high-top Converse and hurry out the door.

Beside my fashion consciousness, at 20 I would have to say nothing much has changed. I am always in a rush and being comfortable in the clothes I wear are very important to me, especially in the summertime when the heat can become unbearable. This is why the lightweight material of rompers is so practical. I feel like if you are not comfortable in what you are wearing, people will take notice.

Although rompers started out as children’s clothing, they have evolved tremendously. They became modern women’s clothing and in the ’70s, the romper’s more sophisticated cousin, the jumpsuit, came onto the fashion scene. Now, in 2015 the romper trend has resurfaced, and it isn’t going anyway. The rompers simplicity can be dressed up with bold accessories or dressed down with tennis shoes.

I spotted this gorgeous Fashionista sporting a deep blue embroidered romper, which matched her eyes perfectly. She also wore her silver sandals and matching silver heart necklace. This Fashionista mastered elegance and simplicity with this look.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “If you want something effortless and fun, then a romper is the way to go. It’s simple, cute and quick. It means getting ready with ease.”
