STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Suede Opinion

Festival season is now upon us and as you online shop for the perfect looks to sport on the grounds of Coachella, Lollapalooza and Bonaroo, you may notice that the ’70s are having a major comeback. As we eagerly wait for the spring semester to come to a close and a summer full of festival festivities to begin, there is still time to embrace ’70s-inspired trends on campus without looking like you are in between sets.

This Fashionista appears to have taken a page right out of Penny Lane’s handbook in Almost Famous. Fringe has been the finishing touch on everything from shoes to handbags this season. Luckily for us, it coincides perfectly with the ’70s revival. The small fringe detail at the bottom hem of her knit top shows us just how wearable this trend can be. The statement piece of her look is an incredible sherpa lined suede vest. Vests themselves are a staple in ’70s-inspired style, and the best way to incorporate this into your look is by opting for one in a crochet or suede material. This is the perfect piece of outerwear as it can go straight from your dorm wardrobe into your festival luggage. Her paisley patterned leggings are also reminiscent of the decade, but the material makes them comfortable and wearable for class. Neutral loafers with a tassel detail complete the look and make walking around campus a breeze.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Trends are as wearable as you want them to be! I have always been inspired by ’70s style and I have found my own way of making it comfortable and not too outrageous for campus.”
