Style Advice of the Week

Since finals have commenced at Belmont University, comfort has become even more of a common theme among students. Even some Fashionistas/os have put their style on the line in exchange for a successful finals week.

This week’s Fashionista found a way to combine comfort with her personal style to create the perfect study-friendly outfit. She started with a floral midi dress that she cinched with a vintage brown woven belt. She then added a green military jacket and some red Dr. Martens boots. She kept her cute backpack filled with all of her school materials as well as the contents of her purse. No one has the energy to carry both at a time like this! As you can see from today’s Fashionista, there is no need to sacrifice your personal style during exam time. Even with the stress of finals, she did not let fashion deprivation get to her.

If you are interested in getting a look like hers, look no further. Check your local thrift stores for vintage floral midi dresses. I have found that they are some of the easiest pieces to score. Next, throw on a fluffy cardigan or a military jacket like this one from rag & bone. Finally, complete the look with Dr. Martens in cherry and this cream zippered leather backpack from Alexander Wang.

Don’t sell your style soul this finals week. Remember — it is always possible to hold on to a little bit of your personal style while being comfortable for exams.
