STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Staying Warm and Weird

Style Advice of the Week

With the recent warmer temperatures in Tallahassee, you best believe students at FSU have taken this opportunity to wear shorts! High-waisted jean shorts have become an absolute necessity for female college students all across the country, but the winter months have caused us all to push this essential item to the back of our dresser drawers, until now. Sunny and 75 means FSU scholars are ready and willing to forgo their jeans and leggings and slip into their tiny shorts, as we look forward to the spring and summer months.

I found this Fashionista sporting a comfy grunge look in the late afternoon. Her ensemble quickly grabbed my attention with her eye-catching elements. A graphic T-shirt and a bold statement beanie, all in one outfit? I was instantly impressed. Upon closer inspection I saw that her edgy beanie said “Stay Weird” in a upside down font. This was a great way to show off her quirky, fun personality. I loved that this simple hat spoke volumes about the individual. She paired her beanie with a great graphic top from one of her favorite stores, Urban Outfitters. The to tucked slightly into the jean shorts made her outfit appear care free. This FSU freshman’s classic pair of white, high-top Converse sneakers truly pulled the entire look together.

I really enjoyed getting to look at her various Alex and Ani bracelets that showed off her unique personality. Alex and Ani bangles are the new and improved “charm bracelets” because the charms individually show off certain characteristics and aspects of the girl wearing them. This Fashionista displayed she was a daughter, Taurus sign and a Seminole through her trendy accessories. This is the perfect example that fashion and accessories can really show one’s true self.

Remember to stay weird, Fashionistas!
