STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Staying Casual and Classy

Style Advice of the Week

For interns and college kids, summer in New York City can often be filled with endless workdays and not enough time to relax. That’s why we thank the food gods and goddesses for bottomless brunch on the weekends when we can finally wind down with eggs benedict and a complimentary beverage (or two)!

I caught this Fashionista on her way to brunch at Yuca Restaurant and Bar in the East Village and needless to say, her all white romper was on point.

But what really stood out were her Christian Louboutin pumps. Wearing high fashion shoes during the daytime with a casual outfit isn’t easily done, but this Fashionista pulls them off flawlessly with her comfortable yet chic romper and ornate necklace.

The lesson here is to not be afraid to wear your favorite going out shoes to a daytime event — you just need to know how to style them! Grab a casual yet classy romper and pair it with fancy accessories like her bold necklace or a pair of dangly teardrop earrings. With bouncy curls and a cat eye, any Fashionista is ready to hit the daytime brunch scene.

The key with this outfit is to be able to dress down high fashion shoes while still looking put together and chic. On days when you can’t resist wearing your favorite pumps, don’t be afraid to pair them with a romper or even a casual cocktail dress for a cute, daytime look that works when you’re hitting brunch in your neighborhood.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “When in doubt, go with what’s most comfortable. And don’t be afraid of white!”
