STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Standing Out

Style Advice of the Week

One of the biggest struggles as a college student is trying to look your best without actually trying at all. Nothing about getting up on a cold morning and attempting to dress up is fun; I don’t care who you are. There are ways to dress casual but still look super stylish, and I believe that this Fashionista mastered just that.

Regardless of your style, I’d say that we all probably own at least one flannel. Whether you’re queen of grunge or J.Crew’s biggest fan, it’s safe to say the flannel look is accepted and rocked by all.

I absolutely LOVED the detail on this Fashionista’s flannel shirt. It is the perfect amount of sparkle to really add something fun and unique to her outfit. It turned what was just your average flannel into something exciting. For her flannel and another option in ivory, check out Free People.

One of the other great parts of her outfit was the fun printed scarf. I typically don’t mix patterns and prints, but I loved the cheetah print scarf against the flannel top. She is really trying to break the winter blues with her ensemble, and I know it was working for me. When you look good you feel good, and nothing gets me motivated to take on my day quite like fun clothes.

Last but not least, she completes her look with a pair of black leggings and combat boots. Both are essential items for most college girls on campus during the week. It’s easy to blend in when you go to a large campus where everyone has similar taste in clothing, but the best way to stand out is finding tops and accessories that take your typical look to the next chic level.
