Style Advice of the Week

Spring has sprung here at Western where the sun dresses and maxi skirts have broken out from hiding. With the sun shinning and the weather being warm enough to leave the pea coats and down jackets at home, the style of the Fashionistas on campus are changing. Warmer weather means brighter colors and endless options for you to wear that maxi dress or skirt you bought last fall and have been dying to rip the tags off and finally show it off.

This Fashionista accompanied by her Starbucks and beautiful Never Full Louis Vuitton caught my eye on her way to class. With the weather being warm, but not warm enough for bare shoulders just yet, adding her lightweight Forever 21 bright red blazer was a nice added touch to her striped maxi dress. Her chunky but tasteful statement necklace is an easy way to dress up any outfit, like the Fashionista did here. Wearing ballet flats instead of sandals with an outfit like this is a nice way to still wear your in-between spring and summer clothes when it’s not warm enough yet for open toed, and still look fashionable too!

Wearing bold solid colors with stripes is always the way to go when it comes to wearing patters such as stripes. But wearing statement jewelry with these outfits can be tricky so don’t overdue it. If you think the outfit needs a little something, like this Fashionista did then go for it but don’t feel like you always have to add something. Sometimes believe it or not, less is more. My only word of advice this spring is don’t ever let the accessories over power the outfit unless of course it’s a nice big Louis or a venti mocha from Starbucks!
