“Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking.” This sarcastic quote from Miranda Preistly in the Devil Wears Prada movie is definitely accurate. Florals are nothing new for spring. But, they are always a big trend that should be recognized! Now that the weather is warming up here in Poughkeepsie, Fashionistas have started to break out some of their spring pieces. This Fashionista chose to rock a floral long sleeve shirt with jeans, black leather boots and a black leather backpack.
This Fashionista’s look is a great transition outfit. She gets a final use out of her winter boots while wearing a spring themed shirt. We’ve had such a hard winter, and most people are ready to wear shorts once it hits 45 degrees (I know I am sick of many of my winter items!). But, everyone should take notes from this Fashionista and pair spring pieces and winter pieces together for the perfect transition outfit. An added plus of this shirt is its versatility. When the weather’s warmer, she can rock it with a pair of colored shorts and sandals!
Darker themed florals, similar to this Fashionista’s shirt, were featured as a huge trend on Givenchy’s fall 2013 runway. The print was on everything from tops to skirts. The floral trend continued to the spring 2014 collections as well. This time though, many of the floral patterns were bigger, just like this Fashionista’s top. Tommy Hilfiger and Marc Jacobs were just two designers to show this big floral trend on their runways. So, even though it’s a constant trend, be sure to pick up some reworked floral prints to start off spring the right way!
