Style Advice of the Week

I will be the first to admit that sometimes I stray away from color and settle for the neutrals more often than not. For some reason adding color to my closet is a little intimidating. However, you don’t need to go directly for the fire engine red jeans or a neon yellow crew neck to add some color. I spotted this Fashionista making her way to the library for a chic study session. I loved her balance of neutral colors and the subtle yet eye-catching pops of color.

Let’s begin with the basics. The perfectly fitted pair of dark wash skinny jeans are very flattering. It’s hard not to be obsessed with American Eagle jeggings. It’s rare that I would reconsider my leggings but these jeans are both comfortable and are a perfect fit for my fellow bootylicious ladies. The Fashionista pairs her jeans with a knit gray peplum top and a relaxed moto jacket.

Here comes the color! This Fashionista wasn’t about playing it safe with her accessories, and it totally works. The bright blue flats are the perfect way to add some brightness to our otherwise muted fall outfits. The blue of the flats complement the subtle green of the moto jacket and the deep green of the scarf. Speaking of the scarf, let us take a moment to admire its beauty. This light scarf is great for the weather, since it’s not as cold as expected, but the dark green color embraces the fall look. Patterned scarves are another quick and fun way to add a little something something to your outfit. In addition to the scarf, this Fashionista some simple gold jewelry.

While we may not be ready to dive right into the crazy colors, it’s always fun to experiment. Take a risk and explore how you can spruce up your consistently black and gray outfits.
