Whatever a polar vortex is, I don’t like it. Don’t get me wrong, I love winter and the cold, but this is an extreme. I’m starting to find this polar vortex annoying. Actually, it’s more than annoying. When will the end of -20 degree weather come? Apparently it’s not going to get here for a while.
But during the midst of the snow flurries and face slapping wind, we all have our wardrobes to keep us company. In my mind it’s the only way Fashionistas and Fashionistos win against the weather. There are so many people exploring different looks for the cold, and I, for one, am a huge fan.
I usually stick to my oversized sweaters, combat boots, graphics, flannels— I will wear anything edgy. But I have to say, after seeing this Fashionista’s feminine style, I may venture into the land of sparkle and glam.
First off, can I just say how awesome this Fashionista’s ombre hair is? It goes perfectly with her tightly wound curls and shoulder-length hair. Besides her pretty hair, this Fashionista wears a sparkle sweater. I love this look! Splashes of sparkle can make our outfits look exciting. It’s kind of like a smile for your clothes. It’s great for just going to class, out to dinner or a night out on the town. She pairs her sparkly sweater with matte navy skinny jeans so the sweater really pops. Her gold statement necklace contrasts beautifully with her navy color scheme. To finish the ensemble, she slipped into brown riding boots. These shoes are one of my favorite types for this season. They are easy to wear, comfortable and snow repellent!
If you want to adopt this Fashionista’s look but aren’t quite ready to jump into feminine glam, try taking the sparkle in a more subtle way. You could wear a sparkled or beaded headband. It’s an easy and interesting change!
I hope you try out your own form of glamour this winter! Stay warm out there as the polar vortex continues.
