If you have done your homework (reading fashion blogs and the September issue of Vogue) then you would have noticed the pajama trend has clearly made its debut. And by pajama trend I don’t mean it’s okay to leave your house wearing what you wore to bed that night. Brands are starting to create clothes that have the comfortable essence of pajamas such as the loose fit and silky fabrics. I must admit that I am hesitant to flaunt a silk pant suit to school, considering they are better worn with heels as to clearly show you are not wearing your actual pajamas. The next best alternative is a pajama inspired dress, such as the one worn by this lovely Fashionista.
There are two major components that qualify this dress to pass as the pajama trend. The first is the fabric which resembles the silkiness of the pajamas worn at night. The second is the cinched waist and bold silver trim. A cinched waist or a wrap dress provides that subtle notion of a robe. Also the trim resembles the piping that is usually present on pajama pant suites. This dress from Forever 21 has both a soft fabric and drawstring waist. This Fashionista kept her outfit simple with a pair of embellished sandals and rustic bracelets. I admired this styling choice because the dress should be the main focal point here.
There are some trends that can be a bit to bold to wear from class to class, so always look for the next best thing! Who knows, maybe you can start the newest trend at your school.
