Style Advice of the Week

We live in a world that’s constantly full of chaos. There’s a lot going on. Lately, I’ve been realizing that sometimes you’ve just got to take a step back and simplify whatever task you have at hand. Get rid of the excess and just look at the most important components. Believe it or not, some days I apply this attutide to my outfits. Don’t get me wrong. I love an over-the-top ensemble. Sometimes we just need to simplify our lives. Ludwig Mies van der Rohe once said, “Less is more.” This German-American architect with an extremely long name is right. A simple outfit can make a bold statement.

This Fashionisto is wearing a perfect example of a simple yet fashionable outfit. Guys, you can never go wrong with a pair of dark wash jeans. Yves Saint Laurent stated, “I have often said that I wish I had invented blue jeans: the most spectacular, the most practical, the most relaxed and nonchalant. They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity—all that I hope for in my clothes.” This quote perfectly represents a great pair of jeans. When looking for the perfect pair, make sure they fit. I am tired of seeing guys walking around with huge baggy jeans—yuck. This Fashionisto shows us that a good pair of denim makes an outfit look amazing. He looks presentable but still not overly dressed.

He completes his look with a button-down and a pair of black combat boots. His entire outfit contains three pieces! It may be extremely simple but he looks great.

This week, I urge you to keep it simple. An understated ensemble can look extremely fashionable. For me, style is all about how you present what you are wearing. Confidence and a great pair of jeans will get you a long way.
