If there is one pattern that I would wear for the rest of my life, it would be stripes. If you were to look into my closet this very second, there would be a section dedicated to striped shirts. All of my striped pieces are white and black or white and navy blue. However, this Fashionista wore a very pretty tan and dark blue striped dress that I wouldn’t mind incorporating into my wardrobe. Stripes make any outfit classic and look put together. It is a subtle pattern that isn’t too crazy or in your face. Stripes can also be dressed up or down. They can easily be transformed from a day-to-night look with some dressy heels similar to what this Fashionista wore.
If you want to wear stripes during the day, try pairing a simple striped dress with beach-themed earrings. This look would be ideal for a day spent at the beach or on the lake. I know fall is quickly approaching, but it doesn’t mean we have to dress in sweaters and pants. If the weather permits it, wearing a dress is completely acceptable—although carrying a lightweight sweater wouldn’t hurt as it does get windy at night.
It doesn’t look like stripes are going anywhere. Stripes became popular in France two centuries ago when the Prince of Whales wore stripes in an oil painting by Franz Xaver Winterhalter in 1847. This print is classic and timeless. Therefore, investing in a few striped pieces would only make your wardrobe better. Take my advice: Stripes will add wonders to your life.
