Now that it’s halfway through January, we can stop trying to fool ourselves by saying it’s not that chilly outside; it’s cold. For my first week in London, I was hit with temperatures below freezing and met with a huge downfall of snow on my first day of classes. One thing I’ve noticed about winter weather is the constant reliance on matte fabrics and dark, understated patterns. This week’s Fashionista proves a little shine never hurt anyone. Winter metallics are a great way to stand out even when you’re bundled up.
“Metallics, Kelly? In the winter?” you may ask. It can most certainly be done in moderation. This week’s Fashionista shows that by balancing her look of structured neutrals and pants in a warm shade of burgundy, she can afford to use an oversized metallic snakeskin bag. It adds a punch of shine that helps her stand out under the gray London skies (not to mention, it has enough room to carry everything she could possibly need for the next two weeks).
