Transitional clothing is always a great way to change up your seasons. This week sways very vintage and ’90s inspired. Overalls will always make a statement whether you remember wearing them as a child or see a pair in fashion’s latest trends. Luckily, with warmer weather approaching, the overalls become ‘shorteralls.’ As cliche as it sounds, shorteralls are perfect for spring and summer and are less awkward to wear. If you love a classic high-waisted short, cropped overalls are definitely a style changer in your wardrobe this season.
Shorteralls are highly versatile in material, length and color. There are so many different and unique ways to style them. My favorite way is to add a plain white t-shirt underneath. Simplicity and classic aesthetics always work well when you’re trying something different. Shorteralls are already bold enough, so you don’t have to add much. I love the mixed denims and patters like the Zara pocket shorterall. If too much denim is not for you, Dolls Kill clothing has the perfect dark black faded wash. And of course you can never go wrong with a classic Forever 21 light washed pair. Picking the perfect pair of shorteralls definitely ties into your jean and denim wash preference. They are definitely a bold way to change up your look without adding anything extreme. Adding a pair of tights, knee socks, boots and a plain t-shirt is all you really need.
The Fashionista wore her shorteralls with a black T-shirt, black sheer tights and her favorite pair of Dr. Martens, of course. I love how she added a printed headband for a statement piece and her pigtails definitely completed the look. The Fashionista just cut up an old pair of her mom’s basic overalls from the ’90s.
Old closets and thrift stores are perfect places to find old overalls for a DIY day with friends. Making a pair of shorteralls for a concert or just the upcoming warmer seasons serve as a great activity. I’m really hoping this classic style comes back this summer. I have a feeling many girls can rock this look in the upcoming seasons.
