STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Seeking Structure

November 7th, 2016 at 2:00am

I’m here to give you some awesome street style inspiration with some advice on how to turn practicality into style. I love how this Fashionsta has taken her own personal spin on some classic wardrobe pieces and made them into something more than just your average rainy-day essentials.

For starters, I’m noticing that structure is everything and definitely coming back into style. This fashion-lover is sporting a classic, structured mini skirt paired with a chambray button-down, a vest and Hunter boots. Something that has been occurring more and more lately is equestrian inspired pieces, heaps of pattern and high-rise boots. My advice is finding a trend that really speaks to you and adding your own twist based on what is already in your closet!

This Fashionista has turned the Hunter boots into a statement piece paired perfectly with the patterned skirt. Don’t be afraid to experiment with patterns, especially if it’s just one piece. You can add in neutrals to balance out the rest. I love the red that pops in the skirt compared to the rest of the outfit. That deep burgundy is a color that has been very popular this fall into the winter season. It’s easy to bring in trendy colors to your wardrobe without having to commit to solid colors.

Lastly, the bag has to be my favorite part! The backpack adds a fun and fresh take on your school essential, and this Fashionista uses it for class to add an extra stylish touch. The fringe detailing is extremely popular especially with the braided detailing, but yet again you don’t have to go overboard with the trends they can always be subtle touches that this girl has definitely mastered with this look!
