STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Seeing Spring

Imagine, you wake up and realize it’s going to be a vitamin D filled, 70-degree day, and then BAM! You check your weather app and sure enough, it is only 50 degrees. I know we’ve all been there. Picking out an outfit for this type of weather can be such a tricky task. We’re all dying to break out our skirts and dresses that are hopefully not covered in too much dust, but let’s face it; we’ll completely freeze our butts off if we head off to our morning class in that.

This Fashionista has found just the right solution to the pesky problem: an army-inspired jacket. This jacket is perfect for those cool mornings, but it’s light enough where you won’t be sweating like you just ran a marathon by the afternoon.

To go with her cargo jacket, this Fashionista wore black leggings, a printed scarf and black ballet flats. During this time of the year, it’s exhilarating to add a little bit of spring to our outfits. We’re itching to wear vibrant colors, flowing fabrics and show off our freshly polished toes. I mean, we deserve it after being cooped up like chickens from October to March. A lightweight scarf is a perfect accessory for this kind of outfit, especially when the weather is transitioning between seasons. The scarf is a great way to tie in some of those brighter colors we all love to wear when the temp starts to heat up. Now that we don’t have to worry about bundling up eskimo style, we can’t forget to accessorize.

For accessories, this Fashionista chose to wear her Alex and Ani bracelets—perfect for stacking. These bracelets add just the right touch without being too clunky.

Next time you wake up and realize it’s another 50-degree morning, make sure you dig up your army jacket and head out the door with confidence!
