STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Romping Around

March 25th, 2015 at 2:00am

Rompers were a huge trend in 2014, and they’re still on everyone’s fashion radar this coming spring. Similar to a dress but with shorts attached instead, rompers are a favorite for spring and summer. Comfortable, playful and trendy, rompers are an easy yet cute piece to throw on for class or dinner with friends.

At Elon University, the weather is consistently getting warmer, and it’s starting to feel a lot like spring. Rompers are a great transition piece into spring, and they can be paired with a cardigan to keep you warm if it gets colder throughout the day. A chunky cardigan can add a more casual and effortless feel to the look, and can give a cute romper a more boho feel.

This Fashionista rocks her patterned romper perfectly. The crochet detailing on the bottom makes this romper stand out among the rest. She pairs the romper with a thick black cardigan and a classic gold watch by kate spade. Even though you might associate rompers with summer time and super warm temperatures, they can be worn successfully as the weather transitions into spring. You can’t go wrong with a romper, and they have a lot more comfort and flexibility than your typical sundress.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Layering! Usually the mornings are a lot colder than the afternoons here in North Carolina, so I always wear a light cardigan over my dresses, rompers or tops. When it gets warmer out, I just throw it in my backpack.”
