STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK: Rockin' The Romper

July 21st, 2015 at 2:10am

Summer nights with friends always calls for something comfortable, but that doesn’t mean you can’t look good when heading out for the evening. That’s where the romper comes in. For hazy night, a light weight one-piece is key and in white your summer glow will be sure to shine. Rompers are also great for layering and super easy to take your look from day to night with a few quick fixes.

This is a classic trend that has been around since the early 1900s. Rompers were originally used as play wear for children after the restricting clothes of the Victorian era fell out of popularity. After gaining popularity again for their comfort recently, they can be found in many different styles and colors today. This Fashionista mixed white with black lace for her ensemble and finished with a pop of color on her feet with some bright pink flip flops. Almost all of her clothes were purchased in local boutiques, but fear not because the possibilities are endless. As an option for layering, try out a bralette in a matching or contrasting color.

To keep the boho vibes in check, you can also layer necklaces and bracelets like this Fashionista did. If you’re looking for something that’s a bit more dressy, but still want to rock a romper, give the pants a try for a little more coverage.

What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “I live right on the ocean and spend most of my day on the beach, so I don’t have a whole lot of time when I’m getting ready to meet friends for the night. Rompers are perfect for my lifestyle because similarly to a dress they serve as an easy go-to outfit that’s comfortable and fun to style with different accessories.”
